Dr. Rebecca Berkowitz knew she wanted to be a veterinarian from a very young age. She had a special bond with her childhood dog, Mickey. As she got older, she would always be the one to accompany him to his veterinary visits, and the rest is history! She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for her undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences. She then went on to attain her doctorate of veterinary medicine from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2016 (Go Badgers!) Since that time, Dr. Berkowitz has been employed at a small animal hospital in Evanston before coming to North Shore Family Pet Hospital in May 2020.
Dr. Berkowitz is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association. Her areas of special interests include internal medicine and geriatric care. Her favorite part of being a veterinarian is helping animals feel better and developing relationships with clients and their pets.
When she’s not at the hospital, Dr. Berkowitz enjoys baking, reading, and exercising. She lives at home with her husband Tim and their dog, Sophie.
