Dr. Kate Makowski grew up in Park Ridge and attended Maine South High School. She had an interest in animals since she was young. In high school, she started working at her local animal hospital. The experience confirmed her passion for veterinary medicine. After attending the University of Missouri and graduating with a degree in Animal Sciences with a minor in Captive Wild Animal Management she had the opportunity to learn and work with small, large and exotic animals. Dr. Makowski graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021.
Dr. Kate Makowski’s veterinary interests include small animal dermatology, ophthalmology, preventative medicine, and internal medicine. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Illinois Veterinary Medical Association, and Chicago Veterinary Medical Association.
In her free time, she enjoys the opportunity to travel and explore new cities and cultures, especially experiencing the local cuisine. She also loves cooking and spending time with her family, dog Lola, and her friends.
