Peaceful Euthanasia

As pets age, they often develop serious conditions such as heart disease, kidney failure or cancer. These conditions can be managed with appropriate care but sometimes progress until a pet is no longer comfortable. When it is clear that a pet’s quality of life has diminished, it may be time to say goodbye to your pet peacefully and gently under a veterinarian’s care.

At North Shore Family Pet Hospital, we will lovingly and caringly ensure that your pet’s final journey is peaceful and gentle for your pet and your family. We provide detailed information to you about the process of euthanasia so you will understand the process and will be prepared. We encourage you to decide whether or not you or any members of your family will be present during the euthanasia, and any decision made by you will be respected by us.

When it is time to say goodbye, you will be given a private area for you and your family, and will be given private time with your pet. After your pet has passed away, you and your family can stay with your pet for as long as you choose.

We will ask you for any after-care decisions, such as cremation or burial. We will handle all of the arrangements for you.
