North Shore Family Pet Hospital is committed to helping pets overcome behavior problems and owners correct bad or destructive behavior. If your dog is having trouble with separation anxiety or your cat is not using the litter box, we can help. Pets can have a wide variety of behavioral issues, from simple housetraining problems, to more severe anxiety and aggression issues. Behavior problems can seriously jeopardize the joy of the human-animal relationship. We are knowledgeable about normal canine and feline behavior and we can answer any questions you may have about general behavior issues.

For more complex behavioral problems, we recommend a behavior consult with one of our trained professionals. During this consult, we will first look for any medical reasons that could be causing your pet to exhibit the behavior. For example, if your dog growls when you touch your dog's mouth, the behavior could be caused by an abscessed tooth. Once medical problems are ruled out, we will work with you to diagnose the behavioral problem and will find realistic options for treatment and management.
