Annual Wellness Exams Keep Dogs Healthy!

North Shore Family Pet Hospital has many years of experience in helping you care for your adult family dog. The best way to keep them healthy and assure a longer and highest quality of life is through annual wellness exams. Wellness exams play a critical role in the early detection of any future health issues and are critical for disease prevention.

Our annual, comprehensive canine wellness exam includes:

  • Thorough “nose-to-tail” physical examination, including blood pressure check and ophthalmic (eye) exams as needed.
  • A dental exam.
  • Vaccines tailored specifically to your dog’s lifestyle, age, health and exposure risks.
  • Heartworm test and heartworm prevention
  • Recommendations for parasite prevention and control (i.e. fleas, ticks, and worms).
  • Nutritional counseling, exercise habits and behavioral counseling.

Depending upon our findings, we may recommend additional diagnostic testing as needed.

Your dog’s wellness exams help us understand your expectations as pet owner and allows us to establish a long relationship with you and your pet. Establishing a health baseline early allows us to measure changes in your dog over time, enabling us to detect the onset of diseases earlier when treatment and prevention are the most effective.

Please give us a call today to schedule your dog’s annual wellness exam!

If you are a new client, please bring your pet's previous medical records to your first appointment. This includes vaccination dates and any previous lab work. You can either bring a paper copy or ask your previous veterinarian's office, rescue organization or breeder to fax or email them to us.
